Norbert in Indonesia

Norbert Vollertsen e-mailed me to report that he’s joined a contingent of the Korean Medical Association to deliver tsunami relief supplies in Indonesia:

In an combined international effort together with the Korean Medical Association and the Indonesian Doctors Corporation we desperately try to carry 7 tons of medicine from Jakarta to the Aceh province. On Jan. 7 a team of us with 20 medics will head to Banda Aceh and then to tiny former fisher villages at the West Coast.

No communication, no transportation, nearly no access–it almost feels like North Korea . . . .

If you have medical training and want to help or contact them, they will be based out of the Jakarta headquarters of the Indonesian Medical Association, at (62-21) 3150679, www.idionline.org. You can also contact Ms. Yoonsun Park of the KMA there, at O81 316 703151, www.kma.org. Donations are appreciated!
