Cheong Wa Dae suggested that the GNP rechristen itself the “Democratic Justice or Yushin Party,” after the ideology that dominated the oppressive latter part of Park Chung-hee’s rule. Watching the row from the sidelines, the Millennium Democratic Party from which the ruling party so spectacularly seceded a couple of years back asked the obvious question: Did that make the Open Uri Party (its full name) at the time of its courtship eager to become the Open Democratic Justice Party or the Open Yushin Party?
