  1. “Commander Bell is a general with responsibility, but there is a limit to how much one commander can see concerning foreign relations issues,” [chairman of the National Assembly’s Unification, Foreign Affairs and Trade Committee Kim Won-wung] said on PBS radio. “North Korea is clearly stating that it has the missiles to protect itself in case another nation attacks,” Kim added.

First, SCUD are SRBM with a 300-500km range depending on version; what “other nation” is North Korea going attack with 800 SCUDs? China? Russia? Oh yeah, USFK in the ROK. Now they want to call bases “other nations.”

Yes, the general in charge of all U.S. forces in Korea, who does this full time, misses the “big picture,” even though he’s unquestionably got the world’s best resources for finding just this sort of information. Yes, a national assemblyman is much more able to understand the situation, even without as much or as high a quality information, and apparently with a lot less cognitive ability.

Why can’t people like Kim Won-wung, when they say such stupid things, simply burst into flame, completely incinerate into a fine powdery ash, and blow away in the wind?

  2. That Rep Kim Won-ung is one of the worst of the worst reactionary nativists. Google his track record.
