Someone Call Guiness; Ask for the ‘Most Chutzpah’ Desk

[Update: Perfectly on cue, North Korea accuses Israel of “barbaric genocide.” There are times I think they read this blog.]

“[This] is a reckless act, an inhumane act unprecedented in the world, and a dire human right violation!”

We’re referring to none of the things that have probably crossed your mind by now, but Japan’s decision to deny entry visas to five North Koreans who sought to retrieve the remains of relatives who died in Japan 60+ years ago, and to participate in anti-Japanese demonstrations for extra fun (sorry, lost that link). I’d never suggest that relatives should be denied the remains of their loved ones, which is why I consider it perverse that anyone would charge for their return.

Oh, and North Korea filed a formal complaint with the U.N. over this. Hope someone forwards it to Vitit Muntarbhorn.

  1. Talk about looking thru rose colored glasses when it comes to human rights. As Koreans say “when married person is caught with another of opposite sex in “raid” is ADULTERY and when I’m caught then it must be LOVE”. Off comment but ROK ought to get rid of the “adultery” law – so archaic.

Anyway, I digress. It’s not so much “chutzpah” in Iddish or “having balls” in English but plain old ignorant statement from of course world’s most repressed regiule with one of the worst humanr right records of course. Yeah yeah, bottom of pan calling kettle black…
