More Missile Launches

The news is breaking over the TV that North Korea has launched more short-range missiles.  A cry for help, no doubt.  Could it be more obvious that AF 2.0 will not work unless North Korea has a fundamental change of attitude, and that North Korea has not  yet had that epiphany?

  1. Could you please expand on what you mean by “a cry for help, no doubt”. What kind of help do you gauge they are crying out for?

  2. Kathreb, That was a sarcastic comment. The South Koreans try to offer this excuse for North Korean belligerence at times, and it strikes me as ridiculous. Now, I don’t claim to know why North Korea does what it does, but when South Korea’s typical response to such belligerence is to offer aid and benefits, we get some idea of a rational motive.

  3. Thank Joshua, I did pick a note of sarcasm but wasn’t sure. I also liked USinKorea’s comment. Admittedly, I hadn’t thought about the bank channel.

  4. I would think with the conservative press in South Korea joining Moscow in condemning the Bush White House for not “doing something” to get that banking channel open, they would agree the North’s actions are justified under the banner of desperation (or some other banner…) — at least a banner of justification…
