Lisa Ling and Laura's husband Iain both lied on the Today show when they said that nobody but Laura and Euna know what happened at the border on March 17.
Later that day on CNN Lisa said she first heard about her sister's capture from the Cuurent TV staff member who escaped. That would be Mitch Koss, who she did not mention by name. Mitch Koss and the ethnic Korean guide (a citizen of China) were both eyewitnesses on March 17, so to say nobody else knows what happened is a lie.

4 year old Hannah Lee made a live appearance on the set of the Today show. An interesting revelation was the fact that her father, Michael Saldate, did not tell her the truth about what happened to Euna Lee. The daughter sat in her father's lap as Matt Lauer talked about her mother's detainment in North Korea. You could actually see the awkwardness as this little girl heard for the first time details of what happened to mommy.
(Saldate told his daughter that mommy was still working in China and Korea.) Later on Larry King's show Hannah was kept in the green room as Saldate related the emotional breakdown his daughter had between New York and Washington DC.

The other revelation that occured neart the end of Larry King's show is the fact that Euna Lee's parents live in South Korea. Wouldn't Euna try to keep that a secret from her North Korean interrogators?

I don't know who's advising the families, but they could get better advice from a seal at Fisherman's Wharf.
