i think this was definitely a misstep by the regime.

they had no clue how the world media would jump on this.

lots of attention now on these camps.

yes, everyone will forget in a couple of months, but better than nothing.

i can predict that there will NEVER EVER be a common topic (Euna and Lisa) here and perezhilton ever again.

You are right about people seeking more information about NK’s concentration camps. My site has been flooded with traffic from people doing Google searches on this topic. You are right though that they will not be kept in one of these camps.

The last American stuck over there was actually kept in a hotel until Bill Richardson brought him back. The US was forced to pay for his hotel bill though. For all we know these two may be kept in a hotel as well.

I think these girls were brave for trying to report on the horrors of the N. Korean state therefore they would not want their lives to be used as bargaining chips in hostage negotiations that further empower the Kim Dynasty.
