Be advised that Leftists in the ROK are always clamoring for Sunshine Policy 2.0. If the ROK government capitulates to the Left in the name of fostering a 'soft landing' scenario, the South Korean libs will keep the regime together with what amounts to a sort of 'methodone' program for the Juche junkies. Note to the WH: the DPRK is not too big to fail.

Let it rot!

If the NK government cannot pay its police, soldiers, and bureaucrats, it's game over. No amount of propaganda can convince a soldier to leave his starving family without a promise of pay. The police will no longer patrol the streets if they do not have food to eat.

This is looking suspiciously like what Reagan did to the USSR, except the NK's did it to themselves!

I think the North Koreans may be forced back into use of barter, DailyNK has a article suggesting this has already begun. Cigarette based currency like that used in prisons might be the most likely option.
