I've certainly found myself pleasantly surprised that some leader I didn't support came up with an effective plan or course of action that I had never expected from them. Bush43's framework for dealing with illegal immigration — derided by his own party and ignored by much of the opposition because it came from Bush43 — comes to mind. It's just that it was amusing to see an article hailing Obama's actions that included a link to an article whose very title was about things he would never do. Though I think Obama may need to keep some things in his bag of sticks (e.g., the threat of putting the DPRK back on the list of terror sponsors) for use as a punishment or incentive, I'm glad that when it comes to something like this you think he's doing the right thing. Rest assured, I’m just poking a little fun about that.
