Sorry to come back to this a month later. It’s very striking for such an establishment figure as Don Gregg, even one known to be pro-engagement with North Korea, to go so startlingly off-message as to query the official US-ROK line on the Cheonan. Does anyone else in DC think this way? Has Gregg cast himself into the same limbo as Selig Harrison, of bending over backwards so far as to risk losing all credibility? Most curious. This man was George H W Bush’s national security adviser! – not to mention 30+ years in the CIA, Ambassador to Seoul, Iran-Contra and much more.

I finally got around to reading what Joshua calls Donald Gregg’s bizarre and rambling manifesto. I saw this:
“In June, Russia sent a team of naval experts to look over the evidence upon which the (sic) South Korea based its accusations [that North Korea sank the Cheonan]. … the Russian report has not been made public … When I asked a well-placed Russian friend why … he replied, ‘Because it would do much political damage to President Lee Myung-bak and would embarrass President Obama.’ ”
and I wondered if Gregg moonlights as a comedian, so I googled him. According to Wikipedia, “Gregg was involved with the Iran-Contra scandal from the inception.” That was the Reagan-Bush laugh riot that sold weapons to Iran (axis shmaxis) and used the profits to aid Central American contras, i.e. contrarevolucionarios.
So Gregg has been a foreign-policy comedian at least since 1983.

If all smells good in Denmark, then, by the 7th to 17th of September the DPRK, will have formely announced the third plague of the Korean People. The third Sung however, in his youth,hopefully cares about his people more than his Playright Father. But when you come from the “Cleanest Race”, you have little time to realize what Bullshit(e) you have been served and forced to consume.

Fact is

The Chinese. The Truth is that all Korean Kings in History always go begging back to China when in Distress. The Whole World Knows this Fact. A vassel King is best suited amongst his cave dwelling servants.

The only difference now is that their is an EXTREMLEY powerfull “Western” Power protecting south Joseon from Northern Han Chosun.

And it is not the Old Roman Empire, but it’s direct Descendants.

Mr. Gregg, why should we be negotiating with North Korea? I thought U.S. policy forbade negotiating with terrorists? It’s time to abandon the carrot and stick approach and just use the stick on Bureau 39 et al.

When a American president ‘does not give high priority to dealing with North Korea’ is probably double speak for Obama not really understanding N Korea.

The readout I got was that Carter did not get even the minimal State Dept help that a much lesser figure would get and the US gov’t so clearly signaled that Jimmy was on his own with no diplomatic brief, that Kim Jong-il felt no compunction about hopping off to Jilin.

That’s really perfect for all involved.

Also, the “denuclearization” process Kim is reported by the Chinese to be committed to is NOT the one Kim Gye-gwan signed onto in 2005 and 2007. It is a non-starter ruse to try to trade the US nuclear umbrella for South Korea (and Japan) for disarmament talks between the DPRK and the USA as fellow nuclear powers.

re: the hope that no one ever decides to stroll onto NK soil or not even if one has access to Bill Clinton’s cell number, this was a classic pj crowley ‘snarky’ moment receiving someone’s claim as the ‘best tweet evah’. it’ll definitely make you chuckle.
