A public service announcement in the interest of promoting greater trans-Pacific understanding . . . courtesy of the USFK:
Current intelligence reporting indicates a potential for an increased number of civil gatherings in the next two weeks fueled in part by the following events: the anniversary of the 13 Jun 02 deaths of two teenage girls killed in an accident with a USFK military vehicle; the war in Iraq; and the deployment of ROK forces to Iraq. As a result of these events, no-notice demonstrations and attempts to illegally enter USFK installations for media purposes are likely. The potential for negative interactions between USFK service-members and ROK citizens are most likely to occur during the period 11 Jun 04 to 14 Jun 04.
The notice is followed by a tightening of curfews and off-limits areas. If you’ve already tried all the brews at Mitchells and had your fill of Sunday brunch at the Dragon, you may have some extra time on your hands this weekend. Take a minute to exercise your First Amendment rights:

And if you really want to stick it to the bigots and bomb-throwers outside the gate, don’t forget to ask them to vote for the North Korean Human Rights Act of 2004. Details here. Yes, you really ARE in Korea to support a noble cause. The cause just doesn’t happen to be South Korea.
