LiNK: Taking Its Message to Roh
Roh will visit Central America in early September, after which he will head North to address the U.N. General Assembly Summit in New York. LiNK will be waiting for him:
South Korea discourages refugees from escaping North Korea, refuses to help their escape from China, bars human rights activists from working to save these people, continues to abstain year after year from UN resolutions condemning North Korea’s human rights record, and maintains an official policy of pretending the North Korean human rights crisis does not exist.
Millions have perished from starvation in the past decade, famine looms over the land and seems about to return, hundreds of thousands toil in forced labor and concentration camps, allegations of torture, rape, and human experimentation have been corroborated by many, and North Koreans lack basic freedoms of religion, press, thought, assembly and political preference.
South Korea MUST do MORE to help these people. For more information, contact lori@linkglobal.org.
