Free at Last?
The Koreans have been relatively free for some time now. But if a new bill passes, the American men and women who help secure that freedom may be able to put outrages like these behind them:
The bill aims to prevent discrimination in all public and private sectors including employment and education. Discrimination would be defined based on 20 criteria, including gender, physical disability, religion, age, nationality, race, skin color, appearance, pregnancy, ideas and sexual preferences.
Under the bill, indirect discrimination resulting in unfair treatment for a certain group of people, teasing and harassment would also be considered discrimination.
The commission would require anyone guilty of discrimination to cease doing so and impose fines of no more than 30 million won ($31,520) if they did not comply. For discrimination judged to be significant, the guilty party would be ordered to pay punitive damages of two to five times the amount of estimated damages.
Let’s hope the bill passes before the last of our soldiers board the charter flight to Seattle.

why do pregnant women in korea that can afford to come to the US, come for a ‘vacation’ in their 8th month and stay till they have their babies here? so, their baby can have automatic US citizenship?
why would 99.9999999% of all parents asked if they had a choice. either send their kid to seoul university for education, or send them to harvard/stanford/uc berkeley, they would pick the US university?

i would much rather live in a neighborhood with one guy that was stupid, drank and drove, and created an unnecessary manslaughter, than a neighborhood filled with child molesters.

it just boiled my blood because i am korean. i am very proud to be korean. yet also blessed to be american too. not by blood, but by legally attained citizenship.
my point is, not just koreans, but sometimes people or groups of people just do not think.
they get stuck ‘inside of the box’ and cannnot see the bigger picture.
it just hurts when it’s the people that i love that are doing it.
James, I’ve lived in Korea for years and can tell you unreservedly that the majority of Koreans are not racist–maybe not as worldly as you, but certainly not Asian David Dukes either. They may have mixed feelings about the U.S. troop presence, but I think most understand its neccessity, even if the Roh gov’t has its head up its collective ass about it.
Koreans used to looked up to and respected Americans as saviors. It all seemed to change once Korean got little better off in the late 1980s. Americans died and spilled blood to save Koreans from communist tyrany and most older folks recognize it. It’s fxcked up 386 PIG Uri liberal commies sympathizers ahole who are whipping up anti-american sentiments. And yes Koreans always had been racist and my sense is that it just got worse last in 10 years.
Ask any Korean if they want to immigrate to USA and most will say resounding yes – even more so with PIG Uri supporting aholes. These ahole hypocrites include disgraced ex-head of PIG Uri and ex-uniFICTION minister Jung TONG. This SOB sent both of his kids to study in US and his older kid attends Stanford (UGH).
Another is COMMUNIST professor who created quite a stir with open adoration for MUDERER midget Kim, stated DPRK did not start Korean War and very anti-american. This another hypocrite fxcker’s older son went to school in US and working in US for lawfirm. And get this! This ahole’s 2nd son was KATUSA!
