Axis? What Axis?
In the wake of reports that North Korea shipped raw uranium to Syria just before the al-Kibar strike, North Korea is now suspected of exporting yellowcake to Iran:
Leonard Spector, a deputy director of the Monterey Institute of International Studies’ James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, made the remarks Tuesday. Spector quoted reports as saying the 45 tons of what is known as “yellowcake” were then delivered to Iran via Turkey. The material would be sufficient for several nuclear weapons if enriched to weapons grade. The 45 tons could be only the first of many such shipments, he speculated.
“After having flagrantly violated relevant UN Security Council resolutions by continuing their respective nuclear operations, it now appears that North Korea and Iran may have begun to assist each other to bypass the Council’s demands,” he said. He warned that a North Korea-Iran nuclear axis could gravely undermine international nonproliferation efforts.
And yet, there are intelligent observers who think we should just ignore North Korea.
If Turkey buys illegal optics and ships uranium to Iran, has it joined the axis shmaxis?
Would you not find that concerning, Glans?
Glans, Is any of this leading to some coherent point? Is your point that the government of Turkey is an active or tacit partner in WMD proliferation to Iran, or is it your point that the government of North Korea is not an active or tacit partner in WMD proliferation to Iran? Or are you just trolling again?
One of the British far-right Members of the European Parliament is Andrew Brons, also a former leader of the neo-Nazi National Front.
I call him Andrew Glans ‘cos it’s funny. This Glans has set himself up for a fall.
Trolling, Joshua? I never insult anyone, I never use obscenities, I never question anyone’s loyalty. I try to add comments and questions that broaden the discussion and put North Korea in a global context. I try to find out if an unfriendly country has some actual grievance, or if friendly countries, and our own country, can improve their conduct. I don’t know much about North Korea, I’ve only been following this subject for a year. I come to freekorea and rokdrop to learn about it.
I respect your fundamental human right to manage your own blog. If we must part, I wish you smooth sailing.

Nah, just call yourself by a name which some dirty minds can play games with. It may be your real name, though – I’ve known people called Clittie and Twatt.
Speaking for myself, I don’t have much time for the Axis of Weevil malarky… both stylistically, and factually. It didn’t include Pakistan’s AQ Khan – who went too far and supplied details of the ISI’s pride and joy, creating genuine shock when they were informed – and the ISI itself, which would be best restructured by shooting everyone over the rank of major.
Blogs are not news feeds. Although Joshua’s professional history has been in Korea, this is strictly an amateur affair (in the sense he’s not being paid). There’s clear evidence here to say that the DPKR *has* been supplying fissile and other materials to whomever is looking. This is more significant than your childish parochialism – you are just a blog reader.
