The range wouldn’t be worth the trouble surely? Sure you could find some remote area and fly it over the border but how far would you truly get?
I wonder…
-rig a leaflet/USB/DVD dropping doohickey onto one of these
-fly it over the border over a populated area (maybe by night?)
-drop the goodies
-return
-rinse, repeat.

You’d have to do some serious modifications to get one that far. Battery life and signal strength would be an issue, you wouldn’t be able to reach Kaesong Justin lol.
Where would be the most feasible place to do this? Looking at the map, I’m struggling to find a population center within 7-8 miles of a friendly launch point.
@Matthew: Maybe rig the batteries to run off solar energy (you wouldn’t be able to fly by night), then program it to fly on a preset course based on GPS coordinates at a preset altitude?
Then again, if it crashes, you run the risk of the North Koreans finding the thing, calling it an act of war from the imperialist aggressors, massive military rallies in Pyongyang, blah blah blah…
@Anonymous
I doubt you’d get enough power from solar panels to keep airborne, also you have the weight issue. You’d have to look at building a new chassis for it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good idea but one you’d need to pretty much start from scratch if you want a realistic chance of getting anywhere lol.
