Please share: Hard-working, talented intern seeks position in a congressional staff or think tank
I don’t usually do job postings here, but I’m going to make an exception for a good friend. During my time on the Hill working on H.R. 1771, which would later become law as H.R. 757, the Foreign Affairs Committee leadership assigned a young intern to work with me on the bill. This friend now seeks a paid position on a Hill staff or in a think tank in the fields of foreign affairs, defense policy, or national security. Having worked closely with this person for four months, I can’t overstate my regard for his skills and abilities. (Click “continue reading” >>)He’s collegial, works well with others, is a steady worker, and is exceptionally bright. He also speaks fluent Japanese. In our work on the North Korea sanctions legislation, this young man quickly digested 50 pages of banking and sanctions legislation. Within a day, he could interpret and explain it to multiple Hill staffers succinctly, accurately, and persuasively. His individual efforts almost certainly recruited 40 or 50 co-sponsors to that legislation, which helped secure its eventual passage.
As someone with over a decade of experience hiring and managing others, I can’t recommend this person strongly enough. I’d hire him without hesitation if he was a lawyer. If you have a vacancy that might be a fit, please contact me at onefreekorea [at] yahoo [dot] com and I’ll send you his resume.
